Variety reports that Twilight screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg will adapt the Marvel comic book AKA Jessica Jones for the small screen.

The comic book puts a unique spin on the superhero story, centering on a superhero dubbed "Jewel" who decides to put away the costume and try for a normal life after being diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder. She starts up her own private detective firm, but realizes she still wants to help people and ends up coming to the aide of other superheroes.

Jeph Loeb is executive producing along with Joe Quesada, Alan Fine and Howard Klein. Brian Michael Bendis, who created the comic book series, will serve as a consultant. The original comic book is dubbed Alias, although ABC cannot use that name because of the former series Alias.

It was said that AKA Jessica Jones will be the first project lined up through Marvel Television. Guillermo del Toro and David Eick are still in talks to bring their Hulk project to ABC.
