Shudder and Red Sea Media have teamed up to develop The Sacrifice Game. A 1970s horror movie, the film is the second feature from The Ranger director Jenn Wexler who co-wrote the screenplay with Sean Redlitz. Aladdin star Mena Massoud and Fear Street's Olivia Scott Welch are also set to star in the lead roles.

The Sacrifice Game is set at a girls' boarding school during Christmas break in 1971, where Samantha and Clara, two students staying behind for the holidays, must survive the night against uninvited visitors. The film also stars Gun Kenworthy (American Horror Story: 1984), Chloe Levine (The OA), Derek Johns (The Wolf and the Lion), Laurent Pitre (Under the Banner of Heaven), and Madison Baines (1UP), as well as newcomer Georgia Acken.

Producing the film are Philip Kalin-Hajdu and Albert I. Melamed with Heather Buckley, Jenn Wexler, and Todd Slater (King of Killers, The Parts You Lose) of Slater Brothers Entertainment. Massoud and Welch are executive producing alongside Roman Kopelevich and Crystal Hill of Red Sea Media, Inc., and Peter Phok, Mark Berry, and Duane Farley of AMG. Real by Fake (The Morning Show, Big Little Lies) is on board with Marc Côté executive producing and Yannick Sadler co-producing.

Jenn Wexler Turned Heads With The Ranger on Shudder

Director Jenn Wexler previously brought to life the horror film The Ranger which was pretty well received by genre fans upon its release on Shudder. The streamer was eager to get another feature from Wexler on the service when The Sacrifice Game came along.

Jenn’s film promises to be a wild and thrilling ride that offers a fresh take on timeless horror themes. Wexler’s thrilling vision pulled us in from the start. We have never seen Mena Massoud and Olivia Scott Welch in roles like these and we can’t wait to share it with the world.
