MGM has picked up the rights to true story, The Flying Scotsman.

The film tells the true story of Scottish cyclist Graeme Obree, a mentally ill man who broke world records on a bicycle he designed from scrap metal and old washing machine parts, says The Hollywood Reporter. It's directed by British TV director Douglas Mackinnon and stars Jonny Lee Miller.

The Flying Scotsman is set for a December 29th release.
