Michael Chiklis may have been the Thing in Fantastic Four, but now he's looking at comic books in an all-new light. Chiklis has partnered with IDW to create the graphic novel series Olympus. The series will be developed by Chiklis' company Extravaganza Productions, based on an idea by Anny Simon Beck, according to Variety. The hope is that Olympus will later be able to be adapted to film, TV or video games.
The series will tell the story of the ancient gods of Greece returning to a modern-day, ravaged, chaotic Earth where they have to battle against the Titans for the future of mankind.
"As a kid, I was always fascinated by the Greek gods, so the chance to bring my childhood heroes and villains to life in the modern world is irresistible," said Chiklis.
IDW, a San Diego-based company, also publishes 30 Days of Night, which was recently adapted to film. In addition, they publish comic adaptations of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Star Trek, Angel, Doctor Who and Transformers.
