Deadline reports that actor Michael Gambon is the latest to join the new HBO TV series Luck.

While Michael Gambon's character doesn't have a name yet, he will be a nemesis to Dustin Hoffman's Ace Bernstein. The series will revolve around the world of horse racing, taking a look at everything from the jockeys, trainers, horse owners and even the gamblers who bet on the races. Patrick J. Adams also joins the cast as Nathan Isreal, a recurring character who works with Bernstein.

David Milch (Deadwood) created the series with Carolyn Strauss and Michael Mann executive producing, along with David Milch.

Michael Mann also directed the pilot episode of the series, which will debut on HBO sometime in 2011.
