An apparent leak may have revealed our best look yet at the updated Batsuit that Michael Keaton will don in his return in both The Flash and Batgirl. While unconfirmed, the images (released courtesy of Twitter user @Moth_Culture) look a lot like what we have seen so far in set images and promo material and would certainly provide Keaton with the perfect suit for his Batman return.

Looking a lot like the Batsuits the actor wore in both Tim Burton’s Batman in 1989 and its sequel Batman Returns in 1992, Michael Keaton’s new superhero costume retains the same yellow Bat-symbol while appearing to be made out of more modern materials. Should this turn out to be what Keaton’s aged Bruce Wayne sports in both The Flash and Batgirl, it would surely provide the perfect bridge between his original Batman outings and now.

Michael Keaton will reprise the role of Bruce Wayne AKA Batman after three decades, with the actor excited to be bringing his version of the character back. The actor has since discussed slipping into the cape and cowl all over again after all these years, revealing that he was surprised by how well it fit. “It was shockingly normal. It was weird. Like I went, ‘Oh, oh yeah, that’s right’,” Keaton explained. “But also then you start to play the scenes, and it was a lot of memories, a lot of interesting sense memories.”

Michael Keaton’s Batman Will Appear in Both The Flash & Batgirl

Warner Bros. has big plans for Michael Keaton’s beloved iteration of Batman, with the actor due to play the role in two upcoming DC projects. Keaton will appear as Batman in The Flash, which, much like the MCU is now doing, will introduce audiences to the DC multiverse. Using the comic book arc "Flashpoint" as a major inspiration, The Flash finds Barry Allen traveling back in time to prevent his mother's murder and opening up a whole can of multiversal worms as he emerges in an alternate universe. Rather than Ben Affleck, Michael Keaton is still Batman in this alternate world.

After all these years, Keaton had to be convinced to make a Batman come back, and thankfully The Flash director Andy Muschietti did just that.

"When it came around again first of all I was getting curious about it. I thought, 'Boy, what would that be like?' And then, coincidentally, there were murmurs, and I got a call from Warner Bros. They wanted to talk to me about something and there was hints of Batman,” Keaton said of the build-up to the project. “It has to be good. There's no reason to do it if it's not good. It's not gonna really change anything. And I just jumped in and had fun. And why would you not? You know, I mean, director Andy Muschietti is fantastic, and he's really creative. I don't know. It's fun."

Michael Keaton will also suit up as The Dark Knight in Batgirl, which is due for release on HBO Max later in 2022. The Flash, meanwhile, is due to speed into theaters on June 23, 2023.
