The role of Peter Quill in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is easily one of the hottest parts in Hollywood. While we are no closer to finding out, once and for all, who will play the Star-Lord, another actor revealed he has tried out for the part. Smallville star Michael Rosenbaum revealed that he recently auditioned for writer-director James Gunn through his Twitter page.

Just yesterday, we reported that Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a top contender to play Peter Quill, along with the previous finalists Jim Sturgess and Zachary Levi.

Peter Quill is a NASA astronaut who journeys into space after learning that his true father is an alien. He becomes the Star-Lord, the Guardians of the Galaxy's leader, who helps fight injustice across the galaxy.

Michael Rosenbaum most recently appeared on the big screen in the comedy Hit and Run, and voiced The Flash in the animated adventure Justice League: Doom.
