Many actors undergo some changes for their movie roles, and Michelle Rodriguez has been talking about how she prepared herself for the part of barbarian Holga Kilgore in Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. While the role of the rough and tough barbarian required an obvious amount of muscle, the actress revealed that she also grew her armpit hair to make the character more believable and put herself into the part as much as possible.

Speaking in the new edition of SFX Magazine, Rodriguez discussed the preparation she went through in order appear in the epic fantasy, and to live up to the kind of character Holga is depicted as. When discussing getting into her very medieval costume, while getting used to having hair pits, she explained:

"I was incredibly uncomfortable at first because it took me seven minutes to use the bathroom, but we got the hang of it and added some zippers. I grew out all my armpit hair, so that's real – it's not glued on. So I really felt the part, plus I gained a good 15 pounds of muscle. I'm still having a hard time losing that muscle. I've had to add a new size to my wardrobe."

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves releases at the end of the month and could finally deliver a successful D&D story on the big screen. Along with Rodriguez, the movie stars Chris Pine, Hugh Grant, Regé-Jean Page, Sophia Lillis and Justice Smith. The early reviews of the film have been mostly positive and it is hard to see the film not managing to pick up a decent box office.

Michelle Rodriguez could find herself being a part of two big blockbusters this year, as along with her Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves appearance this month, she will also be part of the ensemble cast of Fast X. Having been part of the high octane action franchise since the start, it is no surprise that Rodriguez in back for the penultimate movie in the saga. She previously discussed the upcoming movie, and said she believes it will leave “a lot of open mouths” when it hits theaters later this year.

"I think people are gonna be really, really surprised and we're gonna get a lot of open mouths at the end of Fast X. Let’s just put it that way. It’s gonna be like, ‘Really? What?’ Like that! Like that's how I was in the theater. I was like, ‘Oh my god. What have we done?’”

While it is unclear yet whether there will be more Dungeons & Dragons movies for Rodriguez to be part of in the future, she will certainly be back once more to appear in Fast & Furious 11, which will bring the main franchise to a close. While that final movie was originally set to be released in February 2024, it is likely that this date will be pushed back to later in the year or possibly even 2025.
