We reported last month that Mickey Rourke was up for a patriarchal role in a new remake and now that news has been confirmed. Heat Vision Blog confirmed that Rourke is in negotiations to play Codril, the father of Jason Momoa's Conan.

The site reported that Rourke was in previous negotiations that broke down and now the actor and Nu Image/Millenium Films entered into new talks in the past couple of weeks. The film, which will be directed by Marcus Nispel, was said to start production in March, with production taking place in Bulgaria.

However, while Deadline Hollywood Daily is reporting Rourke is up for the role as well, they're also reporting that Rourke is also in talks to play King Hyperion in Tarsem's War of the Gods, which actress Freida Pinto just signed on to. It was said that War of the Gods has a production start date of April 7 and that Rourke might have to choose between the two parts.
