Mike Tollin is set to tackle a unique family setting for his new film. According to Variety, Tollin has picked up the rights to Joan Ackerman's novel, In the Space Left Behind.
The story centers on a teenager in an odd family situation. When his mother leaves for her third honeymoon, his long-gone father returns, offering his son a chance to collect the $70,000 bounty on his head. Ackerman will adapt her own novel.
Ackerman used to write for the HBO series Arli$$, where Tollin had known her from. No production scehdule was released.
