Deadline is reporting that Lionsgate has put out a formal offer for Mike White to direct Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.

We reported just a few days ago that Mike White was considered the top choice for the directing job, over other directors like Jonathan Demme and Matt Reeves. David O. Russell was originally attached to direct the movie before /david-o-russell-directing-uncharted-drakes-fortune/leaving the project to direct Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. Actors Bradley Cooper and Scarlett Johansson were previously attached to star in the project as well.

Mike White has only directed one movie, 2007's Year of the Dog, although he has a lengthy career as a screenwriter with movies like School of Rock, Nacho Libre and The Good Girl.
