Will Jerrica Benton be a fast car driving, machine gun toting outlaw musician in the just announced Jem and the Holograms live-action movie? NMA sure hope so. The infamous Taiwanese animation house Next Media Animation have imagined what this adaptation will look like, leaning heavy on the fact that it comes from G.I. Joe Retaliation director Jon M. Chu, horror maven Jason Blum, and Justin Bieber producer/music mogul Scooter Braun. Of course it stars Bieber as Jerrica's longtime boyfriend Rio, and features Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift fighting over the role of Jem. The story of the 80s cartoon follows a young orphaned girl who has a secret pop star alter ego. If that sounds familiar, its because it's the same plot that drove the 2006 Disney series Hannah Montana. Take a look at this action-packed reimagining of Jem and the Holograms built for our current youth culture. It's okay if you don't understand.
