Its official. We've long known that Nicolas Cage, Jackie Chan and Wesley Snipes were all wanted for the action franchise sequel The Expendables 3. Today, it has been announced that they are all in "advanced negotiations" with production slated to start this August. One new name has been added to the mix, and as expected, it is a female.

That's right, Resident Evil mainstay Milla Jovovich is joining the cast, which has been predominately male, with the exception of Nan Yu and Charisma Carpenter in The Expendables 2.

No further information has been revealed about the new characters included in the script for The Expendables 3. It can be expected that at least one of the four new additions will be playing a villain, long hinted to be Nicolas Cage's role. More casting announcements are also expected in the near future. Might we see Milla Jovovich reunite with her Resident Evil co-star Michelle Rodriguez once more? Its possible.

Relative newcomer Patrick Hughes (he has one action film titled Red Hill under his belt) will direct from a script by Oscar winning screenplay writer Sylvester Stallone, who will continue as the leader, heart and soul of this franchise, which sees no end in site.
