It's probably just a matter of time before we see a live-action Spider-Gwen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but when that moment comes, who will be playing her? In previous Spider-Man movies, Gwen Stacy was played by Bryce Dallas Howard in Spider-Man 3 before Emma Stone took over the role for The Amazing Spider-Man and its sequel. Hailee Steinfeld voices an animated Spider-Gwen in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, but the character has not yet appeared in the MCU.For some House of the Dragon fans, Milly Alcock is the perfect choice to play Spider-Gwen. Noticing the fan interest, digital artist BossLogic crafted up some artwork showcasing what Alcock might look like in the role. For some of the fans who hadn't even thought of that casting, they were quickly sold on it after seeing BossLogic's new artwork which generated a lot of attention on social media.

"Holy sh*t she’s perfect for this role," reads one reply.

"Actually... Yes?! That's amazing casting," says someone else.

"I mean.... does it get any better than this? Nope Not in my opinion," another fan says. "This is perfection."

We can only speculate at this time as to who might be playing the live-action Gwen Stacy and/or Spider-Gwen in the MCU, because it's not entirely clear if and when the character will even appear. There are rumors of another Spider-Man trilogy happening with Tom Holland returning as Peter Parker, and if that happens, that would create plenty of opportunities for a new incarnation of Gwen Stacy to come in.

Ahead of the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home, there had also been rumors of Emma Stone reprising her role of Gwen Stacy by appearing as a Spider-Gwen variant from the multiverse. Many fans were calling for this to happen, as Stone has been praised for her performance as Gwen in The Amazing Spider-Man 1 & 2. Stone addressed the rumors prior to the film's release and said she wasn't involved. After the film's release, fans were happy to see Andrew Garfield returning as Peter Parker, and that increased fan interest in seeing a Spider-Gwen movie reuniting Garfield and Stone by way of the multiverse.

Because no one has been announced for the role in the MCU, we'll just have to wait and see what happens with a live-action Spider-Gwen casting. Meanwhile, Hailee Steinfeld will reprise her role as the voice of Spider-Gwen in the upcoming sequel Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse which hits theaters on June 2, 2023.
