Miramax picked up the Catholic-school drama, Doubt.

Based on the Tony Award winning Broadway play by John Patrick Shanley, set in 1964, it centers on a nun who confronts a priest after suspecting him abusing a black student. He denies the charges, and much of the play's quick-fire dialogue tackles themes of religion, morality and authority, adds Variety.

Shanley will also write and direct; Doubt will begin production next fall in New York.
