Miramax Films has bought the rights to the Jamilia Gavin novel, The Coram Boy; Scott Rudin and Allison Owen will produce.

The book is an epic adventure about orphans raised in Britain's Coram hospice in 1741, reports Variety. It was originally turned into a play by Helen Edmundson that was a hit at London's National Theater; it opens May 2nd at Broadway's Imperial Theater.

No production schedule has been set for The Coram Boy.
