20th Century Fox has released a brand new trailer for Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children! From the man who brought us Edward Scissorhands, Big Fish and Alice in Wonderland comes a spooky new family adventure that is unlike anything we've ever seen before. This will be an unforgettable motion picture experience! Get ready to step into the magical world of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, which is in theaters this fall.

From visionary director Tim Burton and based upon the best-selling novel, comes a strange new wonderful universe of unique characters that is unlike anything ever put on the big screen. When Jake discovers clues to a mystery that spans alternate realities and times, he uncovers a secret refuge known as Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. As he learns about the residents and their unusual abilities, Jake realizes that safety is an illusion, and danger lurks in the form of powerful, hidden enemies. Jake must figure out who is real, who can be trusted, and who he really is.

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children is in Theaters September 30, 2016. The ensemble cast is led by Eva Green and Asa Butterfield. Also appearing in the movie are Ella Purnell, Allison Janney, Terence Stamp and Rupert Everett. Rounding out this stellar line-up are Dame Judi Dench and the iconic Samuel L. Jackson in a role you won't soon forget!

Asa Butterfield stars as the 16-year-old Jake, a teen plagued by nightmares following a family tragedy. Taking the advice of his therapist, he sets off on an overseas journey to visit the abandoned orphanage where his late grandfather claims to have stayed as a young child. The place not only turns out to be real, but it is also a gateway to an alternate realm where kids with strange powers are attended too by a magical nanny named Miss Peregrine (Eva Green).

Written by Ransom Riggs in 2011, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children was inspired by a collection of vintage photographs that the author found at various flea markets. Director Tim Burton was equally inspired by these books in creating this spooky family adventure, pulling from some of the unbelievable, otherworldly black & white images. About the photos upon which the movie is partially based, the director offers this.

"They're quite compelling. They remind me of old horror movies, or dreams. It was nice to shoot on location, to be connected to a place and geography while having people actually floating, as opposed to doing it all digitally."

Eva Green's Miss Peregrine also has special powers. She is an Ymbryne, a shape shifter who protects her group of children from hungry monsters known as hollows. Tim Burton compares her to one of Disney's most iconic nannies. He states the following.

"She's like a scary Mary Poppins, and she can turn into a bird. Weird kids: It's something that I've dealt with and been interested in for a while. It's a weird family."

Along with this new trailer, a series of character posters arrived last week. They feature Eva Green as Miss Peregrine, Asa Butterfield as Jake, Ella Purnell as Emma, Cameron King as Millard, Lauren McCrostie as Olive, The Odwell Brothers as The Peculiar Twins, Pixie Davies as Bronwyn and Samuel L.
