Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol opened in theaters nationwide yesterday, and its success after the limited IMAX opening run last weekend already has Skydance Productions talking about a fifth installment. Here's what a Paramount insider had to say about Mission: Impossible 5.

"Skydance definitely wants to get going quickly on [Mission] 5. And a Top Gun."

Earlier this month, Tom Cruise confirmed his involvement in Top Gun 2, and now it seems Skydance Productions is interesting in either producing, financing, or both.

No writers have been attached to Mission: Impossible 5 yet, and it's unclear if Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol director Brad Bird will return. Since all of the Mission: Impossible movies have had different directors, it seems likely the producers will go after a new filmmaker for Mission: Impossible 5.
