Fans will be introduced to a new Disney princess when Moana hits theaters on November 23. We've already seen the first trailer for this animated adventure, and today we have a new Japanese trailer that travels back to Moana's childhood, showing how this princess was born. Hopefully we'll see even more footage soon, revealing how Moana's bond with the sea was formed.

Back in In April, Dwayne Johnson revealed that he will be singing in Moana, as part of his role portraying the demigod Maui. Unfortunately, this trailer doesn't feature any of the tunes sung by The Rock, but hopefully the next batch of footage will show Dwayne Johnson belting out some tunes. This video, which surfaced on the Disney Japan Facebook sets the stage for a new Disney princess to be crowned. Auli'i Cravalho will make her feature debut as Moana, who was discovered through her singing. An Oahu, Hawaii casting agent discovered the teenager's vocal abilities during a charity competition. She was then flown to Los Angeles, where she met directors Ron Clements and John Musker, and was eventually crowned the new Disney Princess.

Three thousand years ago, the greatest sailors in the world voyaged across the vast South Pacific, discovering the many islands of Oceania. But then, for a millennium, their voyages stopped, and no one today knows why. From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes Moana, a sweeping, CG-animated adventure about a spirited teenager who sails out on a daring mission to prove herself a master wayfinder and fulfill her ancestors' unfinished quest. During her journey, Moana (voice of Auli'i Cravalho) meets the once-mighty demi-god Maui (voice of Dwayne Johnson), and together, they traverse the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous fiery creatures and impossible odds, and along the way, Moana fulfills the ancient quest of her ancestors and discovers the one thing she's always sought: her own identity

Ron Clements and John Musker (The Little Mermaid, The Princess and the Frog, Aladdin) are directing Moana from their own screenplay, with Osnat Shurer (Oscar-nominated Pixar shorts One Man Band, Boundin) producing. The music will be composed by Tony-winner Lin-Manuel Miranda (Broadway's Hamilton, Tony-winning In the Heights), Grammy-winning composer Mark Mancina (Speed, Tarzan, The Lion King) and Opetaia Foa'i (founder and lead singer of the world music award-winning band Te Vaka). Moana has been given a Wednesday, November 23 release date, the day before Thanksgiving, where it will go up against Bad Santa 2 and Allied.

No other voice cast members have been announced at this time for this animated adventure, but we still have several months left until Moana hits theaters in November. Disney will be holding a Moana panel at Comic-Con tomorrow, with directors Ron Clements and John Musker giving fans a sneak peek at this animated adventure. Be sure to check back tomorrow for more on Moana, but until then, take a look at this Japanese trailer.
