The TV show Money Heist, also known as La Casa de Papel, is a Spanish crime drama that premiered on Antena 3 in 2017. After an unsuccessful initial run, the show was acquired by Netflix and has since become a global phenomenon. Money Heist went on to become Netflix's most-watched non-English language show and has even won an Emmy award.

And now, the show is ending with its fifth and final season. Part one of season 5 debuted recently, while part two is set to premiere on Netflix on December 03, 2021. At their global fan event, TUDUM, Netflix released a short teaser for Money Heist that raises even more questions than the part one finale. The professor has disappeared, and the gang is arguing about the gold. Those who haven't watched this amazing show yet should tread carefully. There are spoilers ahead. You can check out the clip below.

Alvaro Morte stars in Money Heist as the professor, a criminal mastermind who plans an elaborate "heist" over decades. He recruits a ragtag group of low-level criminals to take over the Royal Mint of Spain and literally print their own money. Other members of the gang include Úrsula Corberó as Tokyo, Itziar Ituño as Raquel, Miguel Herrán as Rio, Najwa Nimri as Alicia Sierra, Hovik Keuchkerian as Bogota, Rodrigo De la Serna as Palermo Pedro Alonso as Berlin, Jaime Lorente as Denver, and Esther Acebo as Stockholm.

While the first heist, if you can call it that, goes off the rails pretty quickly, the team still makes it out alive and rich, but without a few crucial members. After a peaceful year, circumstances force the team to regroup to save one of their own from the clutches of Spain's law enforcement. As a result, the professor plans another heist, a bigger and outright ridiculous one that seems near impossible at first but comes to pass anyway. Since the third season, Money Heist has made it clear that logic doesn't exist in their world anymore. The show requires you to suspend disbelief and enjoy the fast-paced adrenaline-fueled action.

Things have gotten crazy in season 5. Gold and the professor are the topics of discussion in the recently released teaser of Money Heist season 5. For those unaware, the gold in the Bank of Spain is the escape plan for the group this time around. Having made a ton of money in the first heist, the robbers commit the audacious second heist, not for money but to save Tokyo's boyfriend Rio, who gets caught by the police. So, gold isn't the priority but is quite important. We learned in previous seasons that the group plans to melt the gold into pellets for easy transport. Also, gold can be used as leverage to avoid capture if things go wrong. The teaser shows Palermo fighting the group to proceed with the professor's original plan of getting it out while the others argue to hold the gold hostage, in case the police may have already figured out their plan.

Why and where did the professor disappear? Will Palermo sabotage the heist? Part two of Money Heist season 5 will have a lot to explain when it premiers on Netflix this December. Due to the show's huge fan following around the world, Money Heist creator, Alex Pina, has promised to deliver a satisfying yet thrilling conclusion to the show. Hopefully, the remaining 5 episodes return the show to its former glory. They'll arrive on Netflix on Dec. 3, 2021.
