A new teaser for Moon Knight has just come in along with news that a full trailer is around the corner. On Twitter, Hulu posted a short video that includes some new footage, including our first look at Ethan Hawke as the villain opposite Oscar Isaac's titular hero. As noted in the tweet, the full trailer for the show will be arriving on Monday, Jan. 17, during the NFL Super Wild Card matchup on ESPN and ABC Network.

This teaser comes in amid a flurry of rumors that Moon Knight will be arriving earlier than expected. As of now, there's no official release date set for the series, though recent rumors are suggesting the end of March. That seems possible with the trailer about to drop, and chances are the official date will come along with the trailer.

A series description for Moon Knight reads: "A new globetrotting action-adventure series featuring a complex vigilante who suffers from dissociative identity disorder. The multiple identities who live inside him find themselves thrust into a deadly war of the gods against the backdrop of modern and ancient Egypt."

Based on the Marvel Comics character, Moon Knight was created for Disney+ by Jeremy Slater. It stars Oscar Isaac in the lead role as Marc Spector, a man who secretly fights crime as the titular hero. The series is a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Phase Four and will consist of six hour-long episodes.

Ethan Hawke's Moon Knight Villain Is Based on David Koresh

"I've based my character on David Koresh," Hawke admitted during an interview on Late Night with Seth Meyers. "Yeah, so I mean, I guess it's working. I totally wanted a Camero, you know? I want to ride in on a Camero. I can't believe you, I mean, you're good Seth. Or maybe I'm not out of character yet… I don't know if we want to be on record saying that. But, I will say, he is the basis of great character inspiration, however."

Of his casting in the series, Hawke added: "I heard about it from Oscar Isaac, who lives three blocks down the street from me in Brooklyn. I was at a coffee shop and he came up to me and was like, 'I really liked The Good Lord Bird. Want to be in the Moon Knight with me?' And I was like, 'Yeah.' So it happened the right way."

We don't yet have an official release date for Moon Knight, but let's hope that will come with the new trailer. Fans can check that video out when it's released on Monday during the NFL Super Wild Card matchup. The series will be streaming exclusively on Disney+ when it is released, which might come in March if recent rumors turn out to be true.
