Moon Knight had to take on a large number of creatures throughout the six-episode span of his Disney Plus miniseries. And while Marc Spector has the capable team of Steven Grant, Layla El-Faouly, & to an extent, Khonshu, imagine if he had a team of Pokémon to bring into battle against Arthur Harrow and his cult.

While Red got to wield a diverse team of Pokémon, most trainers tend towards Pokémon that match them in aesthetics or personality. With more than eight generations of Pokémon to choose from, Marc will have an entire team of six to defend Earth from the wrath of Ammit. Given his characteristics of endurance, cleverness, and power, Marc will lead his team to victory. Now it's all about choosing the right team to take into battle.

6 Lunatone

Let's get the obvious out of the way. How could Moon Knight go into battle without the moon Pokémon at his side? Marc's power comes from Khonshu, the god of the moon. While Marc may not be as adept at Egyptian history as Steven Grant, he does have respect for the power that's been granted to him. As can be seen in his ceremonial garb when he changes into his costumed identity.

It is said that Lunatone is a Pokémon that came from outer space. Known as the 'meteorite Pokémon,' Lunatone's power is known to grow at night, its peak being reached under a full moon. While Lunatone doesn't have a second personality, it is known for its excellent teamwork, usually paired with its solar counterpart, Solrock. While Marc won't have the sun-based being, Lunatone's psychic abilities will provide ample coverage for the rest of his team.

5 Morpeko

Marc Spector has a third personality that he doesn't know about. When he's unaware, John Lockley takes control of the body and commits violent acts, such as shooting people inside his limousine in what was one of the best moments of the Moon Knight miniseries. This is a sharp adjustment as Marc, a skilled martial artist, has only ever killed in self-defense or when he felt it was justified. By comparison, the second personality, Steven Grant, is a pacifist by nature.

Morpeko would be an excellent fit. This Galar region Pokémon has an electric typing with a cute look that makes it look eerily similar to another electric mouse. However, when Morpeko grows hungry, it changes its appearance. It is henceforth treated as a dark type due to its violent nature. Marc can grow alongside the two-sided Pokémon as they both learn to control their violent personas and redirect that power toward their opponents.

4 Umbreon

Umbreon
Netflix

Marc Spector wasn't always the dark spirit of vengeance that is Moon Knight. Originally Marc was a marine, though after going AWOL and being discharged, he took up work as a mercenary for hire. While this would lead Marc down a dangerous path and cause him great depression, Marc would find a helping hand in Khonshu. Under the moonlight, Marc would make a deal with the god and gain great power. This would be the starting point for what could be considered the most emotional entry in the MCU

Umbreon can represent this transformation well. Starting as an Eevee, the evolution Pokémon, Umbreon comes to form when Eevee realizes great friendship at night. Umbreon is more likely to take heavy blows to protect their comrades. Marc would see himself in this, as he willingly took the blows from his abusive mother to protect Steven's perception of her. Like Marc's suit, lunar symbols are adorning Umbreon's fur. These symbols glow at night as a means of intimidation, similar to the imposing figure Moon Knight can strike when embraced by the shadows of the moonlight.

3 Ursaluna

Taking its name from the astrological beasts Ursa Major & Ursa Minor, Ursaluna is a beast of great power. Resembling a bear, Ursaring evolves into Ursaluna with the power of the full moon. Ursaluna is also a Pokémon known to exist hundreds of years before modern-day. Like Khonshu, an ancient deity with powers over the stars, Ursaluna can be quite a versatile addition to the team.

Steven Grant, Marc's second persona, is based on an adventuring archeologist. John Lockley appears to have a cover as a limo driver. Ursalunas are often used as mounts, but they can also be used to help dig through the ground and discover lost items. This makes Ursaluna worthwhile to Marc for its strength and battle prowess, Steven for his more intellectual endeavors, and John for the expedient travel.

2 Hisuian Zoroark

The Pokemon Company

Thanks to the powers granted by Khonshu, Moon Knight is capable of withstanding otherwise lethal blows. This can lead to a wild, devil-may-care style when it comes to combat. This can contribute to Marc's ferocity and intimidation when it comes to squaring up against multiple foes. A Pokémon with a similar fighting style is the Hisuian variant of Zoroark.

While the regular variant of Zoroark is considered a dark type and is capable of tricking opponents with illusions, the Hisuian variant is classified as both a normal and a ghost type. With red linings on it, further simulating a bloody aura, Zoroark throws itself relentlessly at opponents, not caring for any wounds it may receive in the melee. Moon Knight is equally intimidating, being impaled and shrugging off the injury while continuing to fight. With such similar fighting styles, Marc and Zoroark would make fitting training partners. And what better trainer for a ghost type than Mr. Spector?

1 Lycanroc

Lycanroc Dusk
Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution

The final Pokémon on Marc Spector's team, and there is undoubtedly a bit of an asterisk next to its name. Because while Marc would have a Lycanroc, both Steven Grant and John Lockley would have Lycanrocs of their own. And each of them would be different, just as the three personalities are different. Marc, being the true persona, is a measured approach. He is capable of great violence only if a sense of purpose and justice guides it. Steven Grant has proven capable of defending himself and the ones he cares for but would rather choose to talk things out if possible. John Lockley has no qualms when it comes to senseless violence, beating men savagely and killing them without breaking a sweat.

The wolf Pokémon has three different forms, each representing a different part of the day. Steven would have the midday form, as this form tends to be more cautious with its approach to battle. John would receive the midnight form, both because this form is the most aggressive and because John is the one who seems the most aligned with Khonshu's way of thinking. But this is Marc's team, and seeing as Marc possesses some level of the traits Steven & John have, Marc would receive the Dusk form of Lycanroc. This form is quiet-natured, but when pushed to battle, is incredibly fierce and will fight to the end if it means protecting its pack, a trait Marc shares in great quantity.
