Director Ridley Scott recently spoke with The Independent and revealed new information on his Untitled Alien Prequel, which will be shot in 3D. Here's an excerpt from the site's article:

"The film will be really tough, really nasty," he notes. "It's the dark side of the moon. We are talking about gods and engineers. Engineers of space. And were the aliens designed as a form of biological warfare? Or biology that would go in and clean up a planet?"

We reported back in April that Ridley Scott was planning on making two 3D prequels. We also reported at the end of July that Lost co-creator Damon Lindelof was rewriting the script, which was originally written by Jon Spaihts.

It wasn't clear when this Untitled Alien Prequel would go into production, but we'll be sure to keep you posted with any new information as its made available.
