While we wait and see whether current rumors regarding the Thor: Love and Thunder trailer are true, some more official merchandise for the Marvel sequel offers a further glimpse at the core cast of characters and several plot details. Revealed by Twitter user Thor: Love and Thunder News, the images provide new looks at Thor, The Mighty Thor, King Valkyrie, and, at last, Christian Bale as the villainous Gorr the God Butcher.

The promo art for so-called Ravager Thor reveals Chris Hemsworth, who is back in fighting form and sporting long hair once again, wearing an 80s-style outfit as he travels the universe with Star-Lord and the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy. The image comes alongside the caption, “Thor wields the mighty Stormbreaker against a terrifying new foe.”

Next up is Mighty Thor, with Natalie Portman set to reprise the role of Jane Foster, who this time is transformed into a superhero of her own. “Jane Foster’s life is forever changed when she mysteriously comes to possess the hammer Mjolnir… and the power of the Mighty Thor!” the caption reads.

The artwork for King Valkyrie sees Thor: Ragnarok star Tessa Thompson return for more in Thor: Love and Thunder, with the caption revealing that she is brought back into the action after the arrival of a mysterious new threat. “When a dangerous new visitor threatens the livelihood of New Asgard, King Valkyrie is forced to take up her sword once more to defend her people,” reads the caption, which offers at least some scant plot details. At this stage, we’ll take whatever we can get.

Last but by no means least is Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher. An extra-terrestrial who feels the gods have betrayed him, several images of official toys have revealed that Bale will not look much like the comic book version of the character, instead simply looking like a grey version of, well, Christian Bale. While Gorr’s live-action debut will seemingly abandon the more alien look, he will seemingly maintain Gorr’s all-powerful weapon, the Necrosword. “Wielding a strange and terrifying weapon, Gorr will let nothing stand in his way,” the caption alongside the image reads.
