The cast and crew of A Most Violent Year examine the American dream in a new featurette for this upcoming drama from A24 Films, arriving in theaters December 31. This searing crime drama is set in New York City during the winter of 1981, statistically the most dangerous year in the city's history. The gripping story plays out within a maze of rampant political and industry corruption plaguing the streets of a city in decay.

Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain star as Abel and Anna Morales, the owners of a heating oil company trying to take their business to the next level, while dealing with a rash of violent robberies. While most of Abel's competitors are arming themselves against these attacks, Abel wants to take "the long view," according to Oscar Isaac, as this complex character tries to maintain his morality in a corrupt business. David Oyelowo, who plays a district attorney trying to prosecute Abel, explains that this drama explores both the highs and lows of the American dream, during this distinct period in time.

We also hear from Jessica Chastain along with producers Anna Gerb, Neal Dodson, cinematographer Bradford Young and writer director J.C. Chandor, along with new footage.
