Summary

Legend tells of three magic diamonds that, if in the wrong hands, can be united to create a force powerful enough to freeze the sun. When the evil wizard Zeebad (Jon Stewart) escapes from his ancient prison, he vows to exact revenge by deep-freezing the earth forever. Determined to save the world, a fellowship of four unlikely heroes band together to foil Zeebad’s villainous plot. Led by the candy-loving mutt Doogal (Daniel Tay), friends Dylan (Jimmy Fallon), Brian (William H. Macy) and Ermintrude (Whoopi Goldberg) all embark on an epic adventure to save the world. In order to find the diamonds before Zeebad, they must climb icy mountains, navigate fiery pits of molten lava, sail across vast oceans and pass through a booby-trapped temple guarded by an army of ninja skeleton warriors. Along the way they learn that the most powerful weapon is their friendship -- which even Zeebad’s evil magic cannot destroy. A lovable and innocent dog and his friends are out to save the world -- together. With that spirit, the creative team behind the animated box office smash HOODWINKED have joined forces with Butch Hartman to bring DOOGAL to U.S. audiences. DOOGAL has been adapted from the European version by Hartman and the HOODWINKED team of Cory Edwards, Todd Edwards and Tony Leech. Hartman is the creator of Nickelodeon’s wildly popular series “The Fairly Odd Parents” and “Danny Phantom.” The movie is based on the classic British stop-motion animation TV series “The Magic Roundabout,” created by Serge Danot in the 1960s. DOOGAL marks the arrival of a full-length, CGI adaptation of the magical world inhabited by the characters of “The Magic Roundabout.” A diverse and gifted group of award-winning actors and comedians were assembled to bring DOOGAL to life. The impressive cast boasts four Academy Award nominees: Whoopi Goldberg (a winner for GHOST), Ian McKellen, Judi Dench (who won for SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE) and William H. Macy.
