With the holiday season upon us and December soon arriving, Prime Video has released their new list of films arriving on the streaming site. Many festive family flicks will be premiering on the platform next month, so fans of the holly jolly and all things cozy will have a great selection of titles to choose from. Riverdale star Madelaine Petsch is a driven hotel manager caught in a love triangle in the romantic comedy Hotel for the Holidays, while Zoey Deutch appears in the charming film Something from Tiffany’s, in which she mistakenly receives an engagement ring meant for someone else.

If you’re looking for something less comedy-related and a bit more gritty, then perhaps the critically-acclaimed horror film Nanny is right up your alley. The tense picture follows an immigrant who takes a job as a nanny for a well-off New York couple, only to discover terrifying revelations beneath their seemingly perfect surface. Nikyatu Jusu made her directorial debut with the thought-provoking 2022 horror film Nanny, which follows an undocumented yet hopeful woman who emigrated from Senegal as she struggles with her new life in America while grieving for those she left behind. Anna Diop is brilliant as Aisha, who is hired on to care for a wealthy New York City couple's young daughter while she attempts to save up enough money to bring her own son to the United States. Though she's grateful for the lucrative opportunity, Aisha quickly realizes the affluent family secretly harbors dark and volatile tendencies that threaten all her hopes and dreams.

The taut picture offers an enlightening perspective on immigration, the American Dream and culture clashes while also delivering supernatural elements that will have you on the edge of your seat. Nanny premiered at the Sundance Film Festival where it was awarded the prestigious Grand Jury Prize, making Jusu the second black female director to win the accolade and the first horror film to do so.

Riverdale breakout Madelaine Petsch and Aladdin star Mena Massoud teamed up for the festive, feel-good romantic comedy Hotel for the Holidays, in which the actress portrays the hard-working Georgia, a manager at the decadent Hotel Fontaine in New York City who oversees the many colorful guests and staff working throughout the holiday season. She finds herself torn between her affections for the charming hotel chef Luke (Massoud) and wordly ex-prince Raymond (Max Lloyd-Jones), turning both her personal and professional life upside during the hectic time of the year.

The cozy flick is sure to get you into the Christmas spirit, and features an ensemble cast including Jayne Eastwood (My Big Fat Greek Wedding) and Kayleigh Shikani (American Gods); it is the first Christmas-themed film to be released on Amazon Freevee, the company's free streaming site.

Trevor Frost and Melissa Leah directed the compelling documentary Wildcat, telling the wondrous true story of an Afghanistan war veteran struggling with PTSD and severe depression who finds a new life calling after traveling to the Amazon rainforest and immersing himself in the wildlife. After meeting the passionate conservationist Samantha Zwicker, Harry Turner is brought on to help care for an orphaned baby ocelot and in doing so completely alters the trajectory of his life. The uplifting picture demonstrates the profound power and influence of nature on the human spirit, as Harry finds a new reason to live after battling darkness for so long.

The filmmakers lived in the Amazon jungle for multiple months in order to capture Zwicker and Turner's efforts to train the wild animal so that it can survive in the rainforest on its own. The upcoming romantic comedy Something from Tiffany's is another festive flick making its way to Prime Video this December, and is an adaptation of the Melissa Hill novel of the same name. In the endearing rom-com, Zoey Deutch (Set It Up, Not Okay) stars as Rachel, a young woman who mistakenly discovers an engagement ring intended for someone else, leading to a wild series of revelations, twists and turns that ultimately leads her to her one true love.

Insecure's Kendrick Sampson appears as Ethan, a man who is about to take a major step in his relationship and propose to his gilfriend (Shay Mitchell) when he mistakenly takes home the earrings purchased by Rachel's boyfriend for Christmas. When Ethan meets up with Rachel to exchange the jewelry, they quickly feel a romantic connection and begin to ponder if the spark means something deeper.

Rounding out the cozy holiday films on this list is Your Christmas or Mine?, a quirky comedy centering on the passionate couple Hayley Taylor and James Hughes, who after saying goodbye to one another for the holidays at a train station in London decide to swap trains in hopes of surprising the other. The impulsive decision leads to hilarious chaos as Hayley is on her way to a sprawling mansion in the countryside with a family who refuses to celebrate Christmas, and James finds himself delighted by the warmth and lively disarray present within the Taylor home.

After a giant blizzard hits and the couple are stranded in their new environments, both Hayley and James discover hidden secrets and realities about the other that challenges the foundation of their relationship.
