Leigh Whannell reunites with his Insidious co-star Angus Sampson both in front of and behind the camera for the new thriller The Mule, debuting on Blu-ray and DVD this week from XLRator Media. Whannell and Sampson will return as Specs and Tucker in the highly-anticipated Insidious Chapter 3 this summer, but you can check out Leigh in a much different role as Gavin Ellis in our exclusive clip from The Mule.

The plot is inspired by true events, set in 1983, following a naive man with lethal narcotics hidden in his stomach, who is detained by Australian Federal Police. Alone and afraid, The Mule (Angus Sampson) makes a desperate choice; to defy his bodily functions and withhold the evidence...literally. And by doing so becomes a "human time-bomb," dragging cops, criminals, lawyers and his mother into his impossible escapade. This scene shows one of the very angry men the mule's friend Gavin encounters on his perilous journey, a furious Lithuanian who finds Gavin hiding out in an attic.

Angus Sampson makes his feature directorial debut alongside Tony Mahony in The Mule, from a script co-written by Leigh Whannell, Angus Sampson and Jaime Browne. Hugo Weaving, Georgina Haig, John Noble and Ewen Leslie round out the supporting cast in this thriller. Check out our exclusive clip below, before picking up The Mule on Blu-ray and DVD.
