The idea that controversy sells was never more true as Munich topped both the DVD sales and rental charts last week.

In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, Steven Spielberg's controversial tale of Israel's "secret hit squad dispatched to retaliate for the murder of 11 Israeli athletes" seems to have struck a chord with renters and buyers.

According to "VideoScan's First Alert sales chart for the week ending May 14," the film bested Nanny McPhee (No. 2) , Big Momma's House 2 (No. 3), Rumor Has It (No. 4) and The New World (No. 5).
