Just one month after a new Muppets TV show was announced, ABC has officially given a series order for the currently-untitled program. The new series, which is rumored to take place behind-the-scenes of a Muppets Late Night talk show, will be a documentary-style comedy, in the same vein as The Office, that explores the personal and professional lives of The Muppets. The series will follow their relationships, breakups, hopes, dreams and desires in what is being crafted as a more adult-themed Muppets show.

When the pilot was presented to ABC, it was reportedly met by a standing ovation by network executives. Given the vast number of Muppets out there, it isn't known if all of these characters will eventually appear on the show, but today we have the first photo featuring Kermit the Frog and Gonzo. It also hasn't been confirmed if the show will debut this fall or in midseason, but we'll surely find out more during ABC's official upfront presentation next week.

The Big Bang Theory co-creator Bill Prady and Anger Management writer-producer Bob Kushell co-created the series, and they will also executive produce alongside Randall Einhorn and Bill Barretta. While we wait for more details on this upcoming show, take a look at the first photo below. Are you glad The Muppets are coming back to the small screen?
