Anyone who’s watched MTV in the past year knows that the fine art of music video directing has turned into formulaic repetitive crap. You know how it goes: You have the singers singing, you have stuff happening in slow motion and you add something random to take place in the background. It’s as boring as it is Mathematical. As is the case with Marcos Siega’s Weezer video for Island in the Sun. But fear not! Spike Jonze is here to save us! The guy behind such genius as the Beastie Boys “Sabotage” video stepped up to the plate to undo such damage and give us something original (or at least random)! Check out Spikes video, Island in the Sun version 2.0 here. {@IMG:dWbHhgx8MenqJOczjNL3T90XEjpvYg|Movie [email protected]}Looks like Pearl Harbor director Michael Bay is getting back to his commercial directing roots as he’s helming a string of ads hitting homes this fall. For those who don’t know, Bay’s the guy who started the whole “Got Milk” phenomenon with that “A. Burr” spot. Check out his new Pepsi commercial…and be sure to take a look at the coolest DVD box sets since Fight Club. What does this have to do with movies? BT is the guy behind the music of both The Fast and the Furious and Driven. With no news of those much anticipated scores coming out anytime soon, the best we can do is hope we’ll here a couple tracks on this new release.

I’ll be back. ~Steve
