The upcoming release of HD and Blu-ray DVDs mixed with more and more HDTV's penetrating people's homes, has musicians and creators of music DVDs singing the new formats praises. Recently Home Media Retailing reported that the convergence of "high-definition picture with high-definition, multichannel audio" is creating some very interesting possibilities in this new home video frontier. According to the site, 20 million households have HDTV sets and double that amount "are set up with surround sound systems." With more HD programming being prepared for TV, mixed with the upcoming release of HD players, the time seems right for music DVDs to make more of an impact in this new format. Some of the musical acts that are having titles prepared in the HD DVD format are U2, Miles Davis and Usher.
