According to The Hollywood Reporter, the geeks have inherited the nation's top retail shelves, making Napoleon Dynamite the best-selling DVD for the week ending Dec. 26, according to Nielsen VideoScan's First Alert DVD sales data. 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment's comedy was the fourth-best-renting video during the same frame, generating an estimated $9.63 million in consumer spending, or 21.7% of its domestic boxoffice take, according to Video Store magazine research.

"Dynamite" sold 1.35 million combined DVD and VHS units, or 60% of its initial shipment to retailers, during its first day on store shelves, according to Fox executives.
