She can sing, but can she stand toe-to-toe with Wolverine? Natalie Imbruglia hopes to find out. Entertainment News International reports that Imbrgulia has auditioned for a role in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

According to the report, Imbruglia had a screen test for the film in early December, 2007.

Imbruglia also reportedly auditioned for the job as host of Australia's So You Think You Can Dance, but lost the role to Natalie Bassingthwaighte.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine is to be directed by Gavin Hood, and explores Wolverine's early days. The film will cover Logan's early life, and his involvement with the mysterious Weapon X program. It stars Hugh Jackman as Wolverine/Logan, and Liev Schreiber as William Stryker.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine is due to arrive in theatres in 2009.
