Two big names in the Hollywood industry will join forces in Secrets of the Elephants, James Cameron’s next documentary with Natalie Portman as the narrator. The film will debut this April on National Geographic, and we can enjoy a brand-new trailer. Check it out below:

Secrets of the Elephants will take viewers all around the world, from Africa to Asia, as it chronicles the complex emotions, connections, and sophisticated lives of elephants from many different regions. The documentary will feature National Geographic Explorer and elephant expert Dr. Paula Kahumbu as it not only shows audiences the majesty of these incredible animals but also highlights how similar they are to us.

This will be a part of the Secrets of series, a set of documentaries centered around animals. It started back in 2021 with Secrets of the Whales, and elephants will be the next big stars, with more content to come, as Secrets of the Octopus is scheduled to debut next year. Cameron has also announced Secrets of the Bees and Secrets of the Penguins, which will serve as a successor to March of the Penguins.

Next month, Titanic will go back into movie theaters to celebrate its 25th anniversary while still standing strong as the third highest-grossing film of all time. Meanwhile, Avatar: The Way of Water, the long-awaited sequel to 2009's Avatar, has become the highest-grossing movie of 2022, surpassing Top Gun: Maverick and occupying the 7th place on the highest-grossing movies of all time list.

With its upcoming re-release, the classic starring Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio could surpass Avengers: Endgame and climb to the top 2, while The Way of Water could still climb a few places on the list while still in theaters.

The Avatar franchise is scheduled to debut three more films, the third installment coming to theaters in 2024, followed by Avatar 4 in 2026 and Avatar 5 in 2028. It will depend on the performance of each movie if the next one sees the light of day since, according to James Cameron, they were too expensive and needed to be part of the highest-grossing list to be profitable. However, Avatar: The Way of Water has been so successful that it's nearly guaranteed audiences will see all five films.

Back into the documentary world, Cameron has also announced the release of Titanic: 25 Years Later, a special that will explore not only his groundbreaking and influential films but also the history of the actual ship and will explore aspects of the infamous sinking through a modern lens with modern research and technology. The special is set to air on National Geographic on Feb. 5.
