Fresh off her hit show Shadow Hunters, rising star Katherine McNamara returns to the big screen next month in the critically-acclaimed indie thriller Natural Selection. The film will be released in theaters and through Digital HD and on demand formats on August 26. To get fans ready for this new release, we have an exclusive poster and photos, featuring stars Katherine McNamara and Anthony Michael Hall.

ITN Distribution has picked up the rights for the teen thriller Natural Selection. The film is written and directed by Chad L. Scheifele in his feature film debut, and stars Katherine McNamara (Shadow Hunters: The Mortal Instruments, The Scorch Trials) and Anthony Michael Hall (The Dead Zone, Foxcatcher, The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles). The movie will be going up against Sony's Don't Breathe, The Weinstein Company's Hands of Stone and Lionsgate's Mechanic: Resurrection on August 26.

Tyler (Mason Dye) is a young man who is desperately seeking direction from a world that seems to have abandoned him. Everyday at school he fights for survival, as he is easy prey amongst the endless hallways of fellow student predators. Searching for answers he looks to his friend Indrid (Ryan Munzert) who appears to have it all figured out.

Tyler takes Indrid's ideology and adopts it as his own. Not long after, Tyler sees the whole picture more clearly but is this new vision for the better? Or could it be more damaging than he could have ever imagined? Soon, Tyler finds himself in the middle of the storm and gets caught up in something he may not be able to change. Natural Selection is a story of triumph and absolution. It explores both sides of human nature, where love as well as hate are separated by a thread and the potential corrosion of ones soul by the influence of evil.

The supporting cast includes Catherine Missal, Amy Carlson, Anthony Del Negro, Tyler Elliot Burke, Susannah Hart Jones, Noura Jost and Esther Zyskind. We'll be sure to keep you posted as soon as new footage and even more images surface from this critically-acclaimed thriller. Until then, take a look at our exclusive poster and photos below.
