NBC and Warner Bros. TV have yet to reach negotiations on the new John Wells drama Police, according to Variety.

According to insiders, the two sides have been haggling for weeks -- but so far haven't been able to come to a deal that would bring the series to NBC. Staffing on the show has slowed down as the two sides work on an accord.

Issues still unresolved include episodic order and license fee, as well as the show's scheduling. NBC and Warner Bros. have kicked around both 12- and six-episode orders but are said to be far apart in determining the show's episodic license.

As for the show's launch date, Police might also be held for fall, even though it was originally developed and shot with a midseason launch in mind.

Police revolves around a group of Los Angeles cops. Ann Biderman created and wrote the pilot; she exec produces with Wells and Christopher Chulack, who directed. Benjamin McKenzie, Regina King and Tom Everett Scott are among the stars.
