In a test of just what kind of content consumers really will pay for, NBC has partnered up with iTunes to offer documentaries and specials.

In a story from Variety, the network will be offering content from Nightly News, MSNBC, CNBC and their other shows.

NBC made this content available this past Thursday with a $1.99 price tag for each show.

Some of the Dateline shows will be things like Vegas Homicide: Death in the Desert and Inside Evil: Jeffrey Dahmer.

Also, Brian Williams, the Nightly News anchor hosts shows that are "unique to iTunes, including In His Own Words programs on John F. Kennedy and Richard M. Nixon, cut from archive clips."
