NBC has cancelled its series Conviction, while ABC has pulled the plug on its series Invasion, according to Variety.
NBC executives were hopeful a few weeks ago that Conviction could be saved, however poor ratings for the Friday night series has taken its toll. The network wanted the show to grow in a second season, but the program has been losing a big chunk of its Las Vegas lead-in. The series deteriorating performance last Friday may have been the nail in the coffin.
As for Invasion, the series was a personal favorite of ABC Entertainment president Steve McPherson. But despite a huge promotional push behind the show, viewers simply never warmed to the concept.
