Debra Messing is back on network TV and she's working with her recent cable collaborators. According to The Hollywood Reporter, NBC has picked up a new untitled project for Messing to star in, written by The Starter Wife creators Josann McGibbon and Sara Parriott.

The project, which fueled a bidding war between NBC and ABC, was given a script commitment from the network. The untitled project will revolve around Messing's character as a CEO who is recently laid off and has to adjust to being a full-time mother while her husband becomes the primary breadwinner.

McGibbon, Parriott and Messing are executive producing alongside Molly Madden, Stephanie Davis and Howard Klein. No production schedule was given for the new pilot.
