Personally, if I had to pull out my favorite Netflix original from the past year and present it to someone as a gift, I'd be stuffing Game Over, Man! in everyone's stocking. Coming early in the year, this action comedy from the gang responsible for Workaholics offered up not just Netflix's best original movie of the year, but perhaps the best comedy of 2018. But there were plenty of other big TV shows and movies that folks across the world 'fell in binge with', as the streaming service puts it. Now, they have released their 2018 Year in Review and it will make you feel nostalgic for a year that isn't even quite over yet. Well, at least where Netflix is concerned.

Netflix had quite a few break out stars in 2018, all of which are celebrated here. At the top of the list is the new Fab Five from their revived version of Queer Eye. As a group, they're great. But the single most celebrated person in Netflix's past 12 months is Lana Condor, the lead in the phenomenon To All The Boys I've Loved Before. She is on par with Joel Courtney, who starred in The Kissing Booth. Both of those YA romantic comedies scored as two of the most watched items on Netflix this year. People truly fell in love with these movies, and they are just as, or perhaps even more popular than some of the big releases that wound up in theaters this year.

Also being celebrated are Miguel Herran from Elite / La Casa De Papel, who is recognized alongside his co-stars Jaime Lorente Lopze and Marie Pedraza. The are truly the standout ensemble of 2018. Noah Centineo is being celebrated for his roles in both To All the Boys I've Loved Before and Sierra Burgess is a Loser, coming in as one of Netflix's MVPs. Joey King scores high marks for The Kissing Booth. Hannah Gadsby surprised and thrilled in Nanette. And finally, we have the great Kiernan Shipka as a teenage witch in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

Netflix's Top Binged Shows of 2018

It's okay if you've never heard of some of these shows. There is just too much original content on Netflix for any one human to watch it all. And there will be even more coming in 2019. Not only does Netflix have plenty of original shows to binge, they also have quite a few original movies. Game Over, Man didn't top there list though. But I don't need that type of validation to know I loved it. What did make the top 3 list are The Kissing Booth in first place and To All The Boys I Loved Before in second place, as I previously mentioned above. Coming in at number three is Roxanne Roxanne, a rap biopic that captivated as much as it entertained. Netflix had this to say when releasing their best of line up

"The year is almost at an end, can you believe? While some may think 2018 was The End of the F***ing World, let's not forget our latest trek around the sun introduced us to the new Fab Five - yes, that was this year- (Queer Eye), the new - and wickedly dark - Sabrina (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) and the Noah Centineo (To All The Boys I've Loved Before). It reinvigorated our love for crying dogs (Dogs), sexy robots (Lost in Space) and bubbble baths (Big Mouth) and most of all, our love for love (The Kissing Booth, Set it Up). Also Noah Centineo (sh*t we said that already). To be fair 2018 did have its moments, after all there were a few of us who Craned our pants this year (The Haunting of Hill House) and someone actually made this (Nailed It!).... Without further ado here are the series, shows and stars we binged, rewatched and fell in love with in 2018."
