The battle continues but it appears that Blockbuster might be winning the war.

In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix has slashed $1 off it's cheapest subscription plan bringing it from $5.99 to $4.99.

The company sites "an ever-evolving and competitive market." This $4.99 plan allows Netflix users to rent only 1 DVD at a time, with a maximum rental cap of 2 per month.

Prices for the companies other plans have not changed. Some in the industry are citing Blockbuster's introduction of it's Total Access plan as the cause. This plan "allows subscribers in its online program to swap DVDs in its stores."
