Fast 11 Will Bring Back Director Louis Leterrier For One Last Ride

Louis Leterrier & Fast X

Although he arrived late in the day to helm Fast X following the departure of Justin Lin, Louis Leterrier has stepped up the challenge and seemingly delivered one of the biggest movies of the Fast & Furious franchise. Now it looks like Leterrier will be seeing through the story to the end after being announced as director for the eleventh film which is set to start filming soon.

“Louis joined the ‘Fast & Furious’ team seamlessly, with an innate understanding of the franchise that is stronger than ever after two decades. Under his direction, ‘Fast X’ is a high intensity thriller with all the spectacular action, emotion, and twists that the fans have come to expect – and then some,” Universal Pictures president Peter Cramer said of Leterrier sticking around for more. “We are thrilled that he will continue to work his magic in the director’s chair.”

Although Fast X and Fast 11 is said to be the end of the road for Vin Diesel’s Dom, it is not expected to be the end of the franchise with several spin-off movies reportedly being considered. There are certainly plenty of characters within the franchise who could carry on the Fast & Furious name for years to come, and if this year’s movie becomes the box office smash it is predicted to be, then it will surly not be long before some of those spin-offs become official.
