We have all seen the magic of motion capture on-screen at work in the MCU, and it will be a dominant part of the upcoming She-Hulk series. A new image shared from the set of the highly anticipated debut of another Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe reveals the very basic and eerie-looking piece of gear worn by Tatiana Maslany to act as a guide for her Hulked-out height. The image was shared by She-Hulk cast member Ginger Gonzaga who added the photo of Maslany to her Instagram stories along with the comment, “shoutout to #jenhulk (as we nicknamed her). This is what @tatianamaslany has to hold on top of her head when she’s Shulkie.”

Maslany mentioned in a previous interview that her entire She-Hulk presence is created with CGI and she is in motion capture the whole time she is on set as the character. This is pretty much the same as Mark Ruffalo’s appearances as Hulk during his time in the MCU and many other characters who have featured in the last 14 years of storytelling. In addition to the two leads, Tim Roth will also be back in a mo-cap suit to reprise his role as The Abomination, the monster first seen in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk movie and then again, unexpectedly, in last years’ Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. All in all, this means that even without considering the effects that we don’t know about yet, She-Hulk is going to be one of the most CG-featuring legal comedies that has ever made its way to screens.

Rumors about the series have suggested that, just as in the comic books, Maslany’s Jennifer Walters will be seen breaking the fourth wall to speak directly to the audience, which is a first in the MCU, and one report even suggested this could see her discussing her situation with Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige. While many people have seen this kind of thing happening in Ryan Reynolds Deadpool movies, and no doubt will again when Deadpool 3 arrives, for the MCU it is something new, so it is not surprising that the experiment will be carried out in a Disney+ series, as in most cases that seems to be the big advantage of the platform.

Another rumor also suggested that Daredevil’s Matt Murdock will make an appearance in the series, and while it was always a possibility considering the legal angle of the show, Charlie Cox’s unexpected MCU debut as the character in Spider-Man: No Way Home has suddenly made the likelihood of this being true so much higher than when the whispers first started about it a few months ago. There is currently no release date known for She-Hulk on Disney+, but with Moon Knight now thought to be arriving next month, sometime towards the summer would look like a good bet.
