New Line Cinema has picked up an untitled noir thriller from screenwriter Allison Burnett, who recently wrote Gone for Lionsgate and Underworld Awakening for Screen Gems.

No story details were revealed, although the sensual project is being compared to the 1981 thriller Body Heat. The acquisition is also unique because it comes with no producers or actors attached, which is uncommon in today's Hollywood landscape where studios primarily lean towards package deals. The deal marks his first pitch sale, after making a career from spec screenplay sales and studio assignments.

Allison Burnett's other writing credits include Fame, Untraceable, Feast of Love, Resurrecting the Champ, and Autumn In New York.

No production schedule was released for this new untitled project.
