According to Variety, New Line has licensed graphic novel "Interman."

Beau Flynn and Tripp Vinson are set to produce via their New Line-based Contrafilm shingle.

Created and self-published by Jeff Parker, "Interman" concerns a young man raised in seclusion who discovers he was genetically engineered by the government to be a superhuman killing machine. The military is after him, and he has to fight his instinct to become a killer.

Exorcist: The Beginning scribe Alexi Hawley is penning the adaptation.

With Lord of the Rings over, New Line has been busy developing a number of potential big-budget franchises, including prehistoric shark thriller Meg, actioner Shoot-Em-Up and fantasy trilogy His Dark Materials.

Contrafilm development exec Lisa Zambri, who championed the project, will associate produce. Ford Gilmore, who brought the graphic novel to her attention, is co-producing.
