The Boys will be back for its third season on Prime Video in June, but while announcing the air date for the first three episodes of the season, the teaser video also offered a few small pieces of information about the new spin-off series based in The Boys universe. Amazon previously confirmed that two spinoffs from the flagship show will be coming to the platform in the future, and one of those is a college-based project that will center on Supes that are going through a Vought controlled program to reach their full potential. The in-universe Vought News Network "Seven on 7" program that delivered the news of season 3’s arrival, also gave a few snippets of information about the spinoff.

"It's almost that time of year again, folks," The Boys character Cameron Coleman said in the video. "It's Vought's annual Hero Draft. In just a few short months, the best and brightest young heroes from Godolkin University will see their dreams come true or come crashing down, as everything they've been training for over the past four years all comes down to this. It's all on the line for these collegiate heroes, as lucrative contracts to defend America's greatest cities are all up for grabs. Alumni Queen Maeve, The Deep, and A-Train were all famously drafted by New York City and The Seven, but this year, which rising stars will go to Miami, Cleveland, and Los Angeles?

"And while this year's competition is sure to be intense, people can't stop talking about Godolkin University junior Golden Boy, already seen as the top pick for next year's draft. America's future has never been brighter, and I for one can't wait to see what's in store for this new generation of heroes."

The Boys Spinoff Will Debut the Comic Series' Spoof X-Men Characters

The location of Godolkin University originated in a comic book arc that included the character of John Goldolkin and his group who went by the name of The G-Men. It seems very likely that the new series will take it story from this arc, which was The Boys taking a shot at Marvel’s X-Men, with Goldolkin being a Charles Xavier style character. The video also namedrops a second member of the group, Silver Kincaid, as a participant of the “American Hero” reality show, which seems to confirm just where the new series will be heading.

The G-Men is seen as one of the most profitable assets of Vought in the world of The Boys, and their biggest story came in the comic arc “We Gotta Go Now." The story sees Silver Kincaid publicly killing herself, which leads to the Boys investigating the G-Men and discovering the crimes of Goldolkin. Despite being teased way back in the first episode of The Boys, the G-Men have so far not made an appearance. These new teases about the spinoff could suggest that their arrival in the on-screen universe could be not too far away.

The Boys will debut its third season on June 3rd, with the new run of episodes bringing a new super team by the name of Payback into the franchise, as a twisted take on Marvel’s Avengers that is made of members including Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy, Laurie Holden’s Crimson Countess and Sean Patrick Flannery’s Gunpowder. Stream the series on Prime Video.
