At last, Netflix has finally released the very first trailer for the brand new season of Mystery Science Theater 3000! It has been a long wait but, even though this trailer is less than a minute long, it gives us every reason to think that this new batch of episodes will be worth it. It also doesn't hurt anything that all of the episodes will be made available on the same day, so that fans can binge the entire season all at once. That is easily the best thing about the show finding a home on Netflix, as opposed to a more traditional network.

Netflix decided to finally release the very first teaser trailer for the long-awaited return of Mystery Science Theater 3000 and it looks very much like the show we remember, even though there is an entirely new cast. The new season was ultimately picked up by Netflix, but initially came about as the result of an incredibly successful Kickstarter campaign that raised a staggering $5.7 million. Because the campaign was so successful, we will be getting 14 brand new episodes all at once on Netflix in just a few short weeks. These new episodes will be the first new MST3K episodes produced in nearly 18 years.

The trailer doesn't show us all that much, but it is more than enough to get fans more excited than they already were. The video does show a few clips from the movies that the new gang will be riffing on, but the teaser doesn't reveal what movie or movies the clips are from. Though, there is a poster for a movie called Reptilicus featured in the video, which would imply that will be one of the movies featured in the new season. Creator Joel Hodgson seems to want the movies to be a surprise for viewers when the new season officially drops next month. We also get to see Jonah Ray as the new host and we get a look at Felicia Day and Patton Oswalt in action. There is also a bit of plot setup revealed here, in that, we see Jonah Ray responding to a distress signal, only to be taken by Kinga Forester (Felicia Day) in order to continue the experiments that Joel Hodgson and Mike Nelson were subject to in previous seasons.

Outside of the fact that this footage looks totally authentic to what fans expect from Mystery Science Theater 3000, it also looks absolutely gorgeous. Part of the charm of MST3K is that things look a little chintzy, and that is still preserved here, but the sets and actual shots look excellent. Plus Crow (voiced by Hampton Yout) and Tom Servo (voiced by Baron Vaughn) look very much like the robots we know and love.

The brand new season of Mystery Science Theater 3000 is set to arrive on Netflix Friday, April 14. So clear your calendars and get ready to binge in the not-too-distant-future. Be sure to check out the very first trailer for Mystery Science Theater 3000 season 11 for yourself below.
