New Regency has won a bidding war for a script they hope is the next 300. According to The Hollywood Reporter, New Regency has picked up the spec scrit Medieval from writers Alex Litvak and Michael Finch.

The trade is reporting that the studio picked up the spec script for $800,000 against $1.6 million, a hefty price that's almost unheard of in the current spec script market.

The film is said to be in the vein of The Dirty Dozen, but set in ancient times of serfs and plagues and the studio wants to make the film a hyper-realistic action film much like 300.

No producers were attached to the script and no production schedule was set.
