Paramount Pictures has announced new release dates for some of its upcoming fall films. First up is Oren Peli's supernatural thriller Paranormal Activity, which is scheduled to hit select theaters on September 25th. Paranormal Activity is a terrifying supernatural thriller featuring shocking footage of a demonic haunting. Katie and Micah were enjoying a happy, carefree life. Their future looked promising until bizarre events began occurring at night. Katie was no stranger to paranormal phenomena. She had been stalked by a malevolent entity since childhood, and she feared that it had followed her to their new home. They purchased a video camera to find out what was happening at night as they slept. Over the course of three weeks in September & October of 2006, they ran nightly surveillance and captured indelible proof on home video, which has been edited into the feature film Paranormal Activity, which stars Micah Sloat, Katie Featherston, Mark Fredrichs, Amber Armstrong, Tim Piper, and Randy McDowell.

The second film is Jason Reitman's Up in the Air, an adaptation of Walter Kirn's best selling book. George Clooney will play an unapologetic corporate downsizer whose untethered life is consumed by collecting air miles in the film, which will now open earlier than expected, on November 13th in select theaters. It will go wider on November 25th.

And finally, Paramount has given Peter Jackson's highly anticipated adaptation The Lovely Bones a limited release on December 11th, with it opening wider on Christmas day. Based on the critically acclaimed best-selling novel by Alice Sebold, the film centers on a young girl who has been murdered and watches over her family, and her killer, from heaven. She must weigh her desire for vengeance against her desire for her family to heal. Oscar nominee Mark Wahlberg and Oscar winners Rachel Weisz and Susan Sarandon star along with Stanley Tucci, Michael Imperioli and Oscar nominee Saoirse Ronan.
